Open Meetings! YES. A few thoughts from Cath.
Why in the world would someone attend an open meeting hosted by Clipper City Co-op on Tuesday, September 13th at 6:00 PM at Silver Lake College in the Franciscan Music Center? Here are some reasons that might resonate with you:
I hear that locally sourced snacks are served, prepared by local chefs! I enjoy sampling new recipes!
Local musicians will perform from 6:00-6:30 while we mingle and eat before the co-op presentation.
I’ve met some really interesting people at the previous open meetings, including farmers and other producers of food and non-food products. Sometimes the open meetings even provide an opportunity to purchase local goods.
As an owner, I invested $200 to help bring a community owned grocery store into downtown Manitowoc and I want to hear what progress has been made!
I haven’t invested in the co-op yet, but I care deeply about the social and economic impact that local businesses stimulate. I’m attending to hear more about the membership driven timeline and the quarterly payment options.
I heard about the open meeting a few Saturdays ago when I was at the Farmers Market. I bought a t-shirt and got a free co-op button! If I wear my t-shirt to any co-op event, I get another cool button!
As a volunteer serving the owner/outreach committee, I attend to listen how others talk about the membership drive so I can be effective when I share about the co-op.
I heard Jacqueline Hannah of Food Coop Initiative speak at the
Clipper City Co-op open meeting last winter. I heard she is going to be presenting again this year!
I am an owner of the co-op and I attend to show my support for the hard work the committee is doing! I am even thinking about applying for the board.
I listen to WOMT Be My Guest show and heard that the initial
feasibility study is complete and I want to hear more about the site committee that will be developed soon.
I know some people who I want to recruit as my +1 so I am attending with them in hopes of increasing membership!
I completed the survey you have on your website and haven’t decided how I to become involved so I am attending the open meeting to learn more about the committee level work.
Some of my neighbors have Clipper City Co-op yard signs and I
asked them what it was - I want to learn more about the co-op.
I value their commitment to the community, the strong leadership and planning that this group has demonstrated since 2013. It’s a great place to say thank you!
