Who Are We? | Member Series | Randal & Selena Burnett
My wife Selena and I are recent transplants from the Milwaukee area to Manitowoc and we have found our new home, neighbors and community to be a perfect fit. As we've made new friends and acquaintances, those who've live here for much of their lives inevitably ask "why did you decide to move to Manitowoc?" There are several reason, but the most fundamental stems from what my wife and I see as enormous potential for transformation and revival. There is much to be done, but there are many visionaries here who see the potential. Grass roots organizations like Clipper City Co-op, Grow It Forward and Manitowoc Community Gardens are examples of a vibrant culture of community growth and change that all Manitowoc can build upon in providing its citizens healthy, affordable foods and food related resources. And, in this age of political rancor and divisiveness, what a breath of fresh air it is to be part of something which, by it's very name, embodies cooperation and mutual benefit. Selena and I are proud to join with others here as seed members of Clipper City Co-op.
